Point to prove

14 January 2014

Jimmy wants to climb up the Championship

Millwall midfielder Jimmy Abdou believes new boss Ian Holloway is the right man to lead The Lions away from the Championship dropzone.

Ollie suffered defeat at Huddersfield in his first game at the helm, but the performance was much improved and, according to the 50-year-old, warranted at least a share of the spoils.

And Jimmy, speaking to Lions Player, is excited to have linked up with Ollie once again.

"He signed me at Plymouth but left after a few months to go to Leicester," he said.

"I know the personality of the manager and I think he will bring some positive things to the club, and, hopefully, help us.

"We worked hard (against Huddersfield) and definitely wanted the three points. We're disappointed but have to take the positives into the next game.

"We are in a bad position but we want to give more and be higher up the table. We want to prove we can do better and have to work hard."
