DJ aims to be a Den hit
Millwall loanee DJ Campbell hopes to hit the ground running and help The Lions record back-to-back wins for the first time since September in tonight's crunch clash against Sheffield Wednesday at The Den (7.45pm).
Striker DJ agreed a three-month loan from Blackburn last Monday and flew out to Portugal the following day to link up with his new team-mates at their warm weather training camp in Portugal.
Whilst it handed the frontman a great opportunity to get down to some hard graft on the training pitch, it also provided DJ with the chance to re-acquaint himself with manager Ian Holloway, under whom he previously enjoyed the most fruitful spell of his career to date when the duo were at Blackpool.
"It was a good chance to meet the lads and obviously I know the gaffer from before," DJ told Lions Player.
"It is massive for me to come here because I wanted to get back to playing regularly and enjoy my football. It was a bit stop-start at Blackburn and once I spoke to Ollie about Millwall, I was dying to come here.
"This club's got great tradition; you only have to look at Millwall to see what they're about and they are similar to me. People can say it's a match made, you know, and if we can hit the ground running and get three points against Sheffield Wednesday, which is a massive game, we can kick on from there."
