FOTB update

2 January 2014

Latest from Pete

Millwall Fan on the Board Pete Garston is on the road to recovery following a spell on the sidelines with illness, as he explains in his latest update:

"I've been in hospital since 20th December and was released finally on Monday following an operation and I'm now on the mend. I hope to be able to attend games in the next couple of weeks.

Where possible I have been kept up-to-date and involved with everything that has been going on by phone, text and email and in turn I have given an overview to Bob Asprey of the MSC (this is normal procedure anyway).

Using my voice as a Board member, I have echoed what I believe is the majority view of the fans that any new manager needs to have Championship experience to stabilise the club and secure the club's status in this division.

The Board are aware of what is required, I believe more so than last time. The current discussions within the Board are how we are going to secure such a manager, the package available etc alongside collating the applicants who have applied or who are targets, and to eventually come up with a manageable number of applicants.

One of the major improvements since the FOTB role was introduced is the club's ability to get the information out ASAP; this has shown recently with all the managerial updates.
