Ollie: 'We deserved more'

Lions boss reflects on Bolton draw

Millwall manager Ian Holloway believed The Lions deserved all three points against Bolton Wanderers at The Den on Saturday.

Martyn Woolford struck his seventh goal of the season in the 82nd minute - five minutes after Lukas Jutkiewicz, who opened the scoring in the first-half, missed a penalty - but Ollie said his side's performance warranted more than a draw.

"The lads played some really good stuff at times. Fordey's penalty save was a big lift but long before then we were creating chance after chance. You only need to look at the stats.

"I'm gutted that we didn't get three points but I can see what we are trying to do and I see that the belief amongst the players is coming.

"I thought we were brave but tried to overplay at times when we went 1-0 down. We needed to get the ball forward a bit quicker than we had to before they scored, and I got that message across to the players at half-time.

"I'm proud that the fans backed the players and that the players gave the fans reasons to sing. Our supporters were superb - they stayed with the team all the way through and I told them that.

"I'm disappointed that we're not celebrating a win because we had so many chances, more so than any game under me before. If we can keep doing that then the strikers I have - all five of them - will score goals, there's no doubt about that."

Ollie was full of praise for Danny Shittu and makeshift centre-half Alan Dunne, who started his first game since January 11th.

"We've been working on Dunney playing at centre-half because he's quick," he said. "It's not his natural position but I thought he was excellent. Danny was up against Jutkiewicz and we asked Dunney to cover in behind, which he did really well.

"Danny has been brilliant for me since I've been here. I had him before (at QPR) and he was great there, too. He has this problem with his knee which we keep a check on but I think he can believe in what his body is capable of more. He's a big presence in the dressing room for us."
