Venue change for Sunday's Third Round tieWith the weather forecast not likely to improve in the coming days, and both teams keen to get the game played, the Lionesses have decided to switch the venue for their FA Cup Third Round tie against Reading to the new 3G pitch at Meridian Sports and Social Club.
The match will now take place this Sunday 16th February, but will kick-off at 4pm.
Due to the change of venue, ticket prices have also been reduced. Adults can enjoy the game for just £2, with U16s paying only £1 to watch the two Super League clubs go head-to-head.
Millwall season ticket holders, Junior season ticket holders and Junior Lions can enjoy the match for free!
Meanwhile, to combat the bad weather, Lionesses manager Alberto Kurti and Lioness Leanne Cowan went down to London FA's Goals for Girls Football Festival.
Will Millwall FC last week announcing that the Lionesses would be playing their WSL 2 matches at The Den this season, it was a great opportunity for the women's team to expand their local fan base and encourage the girls to come and support them.
Cowan said: "It's great to see so many girls here at the Crystal Palace National Sports Centre. It brings back some great memories of playing here in the London Youth Games. As a local WSL club, we hope that some of the girls will be keen to come down and support the Lionesses at The Den this season.
"The afternoon was a great example of how we can bring girls together to get plenty of match time in a fun and relaxed environment, without needing to keep scores and having a winner. Events like this brilliant opportunity for newly formed teams, schools and grassroots clubs to come together and give girls' the opportunity to play football in a fun and relaxed environment."
The next Goals for Girls Festival will be taking place on 22nd March and will be hosted by Dalmain Athletic Girls FC at Downham Playing Fields BR1 4RP.
There will be U9, U11 and U13 games taking place. For more information, or to register, please contact firstname.lastname@example.org or call 07921 050 375.
