24 February 2014

Lions keeper nominated for Player of the Year

David Forde has been nominated for the Senior International Player of the Year gong at the annual FAI International Football Awards.

The award ceremony takes place this Sunday 2nd March and the 34-year-old is nominated alongside Everton's Seamus Coleman and LA Galaxy's Robbie Keane.

Fully established as his country's first choice goalkeeper, the Millwall number one has been in outstanding form over the past 18 months, and kept an impressive clean sheet in his last appearance for the Republic of Ireland in November's 0-0 draw away to Poland.

Forde earned his first international cap against Northern Ireland in May 2011 and has since appeared a further 14 times for his country.
