Lee Gregory on match-winning goal

Lions striker delighted to sink Seagulls

Match-winner Lee Gregory has spoken of his delight at scoring the goal that sank Brighton to secure a first-ever win for Millwall at the Amex Stadium on Friday night.

Lee's strike, a crisp 15th-minute finish after the ball had dropped kindly to him from Magaye Gueye's scuffed effort, settled a tight encounter against two teams at the wrong end of the table.

"It's always good to get a goal, and a goal that wins a game is so much better," Lee told Lions Player. "It doesn't matter how it comes as long as the ball goes in the back of the net that is all that matters.

"We had a great start and thankfully the lads stuck together to get the three points."

Lee, who has made the step up from Conference football with AFC Halifax Town looked seamless, believes that the best is yet to come in his first full season playing in the Championship.

"I've learned loads from the gaffer and a lot from the players as well," he added. "The players talk to me all the time in training, before the game, during the game, after the game - they try to help me out.

"I take it all in try and to do what I can on the pitch as best as I can."
