Lions physio Bobby Bacic has confirmed that forward Magaye Gueye was forced off injured during Tuesday night's Capital One Cup win against Wycombe with bruised ribs.
The former Everton man, making his full Lions debut, sustained the injury early in the second-half following an accidental collision with a Wycombe player and was replaced by Fred Onyedinma.
Bobby told millwallfc.co.uk: "He had a little trouble breathing and will further assess him tomorrow.
"He has bruised ribs but we are optimistic that it is nothing too serious."
There is good news for a quartet of fellow Lions players currently sidelined through injury.
"Justin Hoyte returned to training this week and he has been working really hard," added Bobby. "Richard Chaplow has also returned to training and Nicky Bailey is doing outdoor rehab at present too.
"Ed Upson is at a slightly earlier stage of his outdoor rehab and Sid Nelson will be in his protective boot for another three weeks to protect his fractured second metatarsal.
"Sid can, however, still do bike, pool and gym work to maintain his fitness levels which he has been doing."
