Lionesses introduce Girls' Football Development Centre

30 August 2014

Great opportunity for youngsters aged 5 - 8 years

As pioneers of girls' football and the first club in the country to have a female Centre of Excellence, Millwall Lionesses have always considered the grassroots development of women's and girls' football to be vitally important to the club.

To further their development programme the Lionesses are delighted to announce that for the 2014/15 season they will be further expanding their structure by introducing a Football Development Centre for girls aged between 5 - 8 years.

Many of the team's current first team players began their careers in a similar way and the Lionesses are keen to give girls in the local community the chance to learn the sport in a safe and welcoming environment.

The goal is to provide girls with the opportunity to play and enjoy their football, while learning from qualified coaches, including many of the current Millwall Lionesses’ players.

For the equivalent of £5 per week, each Development Centre player receives 90 minutes of high quality coaching per week. In addition, every player will also receive a complete Millwall Lionesses playing kit and kitbag.

Sessions are arranged in 12 week segments to fit around the school term and holidays. For more information or to register your interest simply email
