Striker looks forward to Championship opener
The hard work of pre-season is nearly complete, the clock is ticking and Saturday's mouthwatering can't-come-quick-enough season's opener at home to Leeds United is three days away.
Lions fans will be in tremendous voice amongst a crowd that could push up towards the 17,000 mark. Make no mistake, The Den will be rocking.
For striker Lee Gregory, one of six summer signings made by The Lions, Saturday's Den encounter is just about the best possible introduction the Yorkshireman could have to the Championship - and a packed Den!
"It's been five, six weeks now but this is the week we've been waiting for, working for. This is what it is all about," Lee told Lions Player.
"Pre-season has not been easy and the first few weeks were definitely harder than I expected. But it's all about progression, it's all been geared towards what we are doing this Saturday.
"Although I played in the Real Mallorca game at the ground on Friday night, Leeds will be different and I can't wait.
"I'm looking forward to it, we all are. Quite a few of my family are coming down for the game from Yorkshire and not one, honestly not one, with a Leeds connection. We're more Sheffield!"
While the fairytale for former FC Halifax Town frontman Lee would be to score the winner against United, he is keeping his feet firmly on the ground.
"Yes that is the fairytale, but let's just see if I get to start before talking about goals."
Tickets for the game are on general sale and can be purchased
