Latest on Bailey, Upson and Chaplow

5 August 2014

Injury update from physio Bobby

Millwall physio Bobby Bacic has brought us the latest on a trio of Lions players who are all destined to miss the season's opener against Leeds United on Saturday.

Speaking to Bobby said: "Nicky Bailey sustained a calf injury in the game against Real Mallorca on Friday night.

"At first it was difficult to make a formal diagnosis as we were hoping that his injury was just from the initial contact of a challenge. Nicky has had a scan since and it has shown a small tear to his calf.

"We are desperately trying to get him ready for the Fulham game on 16th August as he has a strong connection with the area and can't wait to get back playing.

"As the old cliche says though, we will take it day by day with Nicky as we do with any player who is carrying an injury."

Bobby added: "Ed Upson has a minor hamstring irritation and Richard Chaplow a small hamstring problem, but he is looking to resume training next week."
