Lions keeper set for Euro action
A new three year contract signed at The Den in the close season has enabled him to continue where he left off in June, as The Lions' and the Republic's number one.Fordey was busy during the summer, with his country in international action prior to the World Cup against Turkey, Italy, Costa Rica and Portugal, and having returned to his day job with Millwall, he has again been in top form.
For David Forde, however, it is likely to be business as usual, with the keeper having been called into Martin O'Neill's initial 36 man squad for the Republic of Ireland's friendly with Oman on 3rd September before that squad is reduced for the Euro 2016 qualifier against Georgia four days later.
After a hectic start to the new campaign which will have seen Millwall play seven competitive fixtures in just 22 days by the end of August, the majority of the squad will enjoy a short break before the trip to Ipswich on 13th September.
