Beevers: Lions fans are playing their part

22 August 2014

Defender praises supporters ahead of Rotherham game

Centre-back Mark Beevers believes the Millwall fans have played their part in the club's positive start to the season.

The Lions head into tomorrow's game against Rotherham United fresh from Tuesday's last-gasp draw with Sheffield Wednesday, a result which extended Millwall's unbeaten start to 2014/15.

Speaking in Saturday's edition of The Lion, Beevers says: "Our fans played a huge in us staying up last season and have been fantastic again over the last couple of weeks.

"They are up there with the very best and it is up to us to give them the type of performances they deserve.

"It was great for me to score my first goal for Millwall at home in the match against Leeds. To hear that level of noise from 16,000 supporters was incredible and something I hope to experience again soon."
