Midfielder faces course of injections on calf injury

"Nicky suffered a reaction in his calf after the Fulham match and will now undergo a course of injections which means he will be ruled out until after the international Lions physio Bobby Bacic told

Millwall midfielder Nicky Bailey was ruled out of Tuesday night's game at Sheffield Wednesday with a calf problem - and will not be considered for first team action until after the international break in September.

There is good news for fellow midfielder Ed Upson, with Bobby adding: "

"Nicky can and is willing to play with the calf as it is, only giving him minor discomfort. However, our worry is that if we keep pushing Nicky through, it will gradually get worse and we may not have the luxury of an international break to give us the extra time for the injections to be successful." Ed is making good progress from his hamstring injury and is currently doing end stage outdoor rehab."
