Physio Bacic updates on the fitness of Martin, Upson and Shittu

Millwall physio Bobby Bacic has spoken to about the extent of Lee Martin's shin injury.

The winger was stretchered off with just 15 minutes played at Loftus Road on Saturday after blocking a shot on the edge of the box, and boss Ian Holloway confirmed after the match that Martin is likely to miss the final day game with Bournemouth.

"Lee suffered a very deep cut to his left leg," Bacic said. "It was a painful one and in the end five internal and seven external stitches were needed to close the wound, which was very deep.

"The stitching procedure was performed at Charing Cross Hospital, to whom we would like to extend our thanks for the excellent care they delivered to Lee."

Bacic added: "Credit should also be given to Lee, who remained calm throughout which made the whole process run very smoothly. He will join Ed Upson and Danny Shittu in the treatment room, who are both making good progress from their ankle and achilles injuries respectively."
