Keeper honoured to receive Player of the Year award
David Forde says winning this season's Player of the Year award is an 'honour'.
The keeper came out on top in this season's fans' vote, pipping Scott Malone and Martyn Woolford to the award, who finished second and respectively.
The Irishman has been in sparkling form in his 36 appearances so far this term, during which he has kept eight clean sheets, and goes one better than last year when he finished runner-up to Danny Shittu.
"I think it's three times that I've finished second so this is fantastic news and I'm delighted," he told Lions Player.
"There's been six years for me here and I've enjoyed every minute of it. It's an honour and a privilege. You just go out there on a Saturday and try to do your bit for the team."
