What The Papers Said
Martyn Woolford’s Lions are all ready to roar
Martyn Woolford reckons his Millwall side are finally turning the corner.
The winger saw his second-half goal cancelled out at the end by Leonardo Ulloa to leave the Lions still seeking their first win of the season.
It has been a rough start to life at the Den for boss Steve Lomas, who took over a side that won only one of the last nine games of last season.
And Lomas was clear that it would take more movement in today’s transfer window frenzy to kick-start the season.
But Woolford believes his current team-mates are starting to gel and any new faces will have to scrap for their place.
“If the boss brings in one or two players it’s more competition,” he said.
“Everyone is fighting – I’ve been fighting for my place myself.
“The players in so far are decent players, but sometimes it takes a little bit of time for them to come together.
“I don’t think we are far away. We have got two home games coming up which are huge games and if we don’t get something out of them this point is not really worth much.”
