Lewisham Healthcare Trust is teaming up with Millwall Community on Saturday to raise awareness of cancer among men as part of Blue September; a national initiative to raise awareness of bowel, skin, lung, prostate and testicular cancer among men, and other health topics including stopping smoking.
Health professionals will be on hand at a number of information points in the main car park (by the Barry Kitchener Stand) to answer your questions.
There really is something for everyone with representatives from Prostate Cancer UK, South East London Bowel Cancer Screening Service,
Lewisham Health Improvement Service(Sign up for the NHS Health Check, Health Trainer Services, Mental health well-being), Diabetes UK champions and 'Kick the Habit' Stop Smoking Service.
And other activities including a Smoothie bike challenge (get a free glass of Smoothie) and face painting – why not show your support and paint your face blue for Blue September?
Millwall Community and the Club are proud to support Blue September, and to extend our support to our colleagues in the NHS and at Prostate Cancer UK. So give your support to healthy Millwall and meet the various teams in the main car park area prior to kick off.
Don't forget to look out for our new health initiatives 'The Millwall Health Challenge' and the 'Chairman's Challenge', which we will be releasing further details of over the coming weeks, and to sign your child's school up to our healthy cubs programme.
