Defender sustains knee injuryCentre back Mark Beevers, who starred alongside Paul Robinson as The Lions kept their first clean sheet of the season at Charlton on Saturday, looks set to be out of action for between six to eight weeks after suffering sprained medial knee ligaments against The Addicks.
Lions boss Steve Lomas said: "It's obviously a blow for us and for Mark at a time when we appear to be turning a corner. Fortunately surgery doesn't appear to be necessary but we are resigned to being without him for the next few weeks."
Beevers injury looks likely to provide an opening either for Karleigh Osborne to make his first League start of the campaign against Leeds United at The Den on Saturday, or for Danny Shittu to return to the side.
Shane Lowry, who can also fill in at centre back, serves the third match of his three game ban this weekend.
