Blues v Lions down the years

Tonight's Championship clash will mark the 40th fixture between Millwall and Birmingham City - and The Lions will be desperate to improve on their record against The Blues.

It is 45 years since Millwall last tasted success at St Andrews when goals from Derek Possee and John Gilchrist secured a 2-1 win way back on 18th October 1968.

The Lions go into action against The Blues having won nine of the previous 32 League meetings, with Birmingham finishing victorious 14 times and the other nine matches ending all-square.

The remaining seven encounters between the two teams have all eventually gone Birmingham's way in two FA Cup, one League Cup and one Play-Off match. Two League Cup and one Play-Off game were drawn.
