Resilience at Reading

25 October 2013

Lomas calls for repeat performance

Steve Lomas has called for his players to replicate the hard work and resilience they showed against QPR last Saturday and to dig in when things are not going their way.

Millwall have shipped nine goals in their last two away games, and the manager is looking for a return to the miserly defensive displays which earned four points from trips to Brighton and Charlton.

He said: "You seldom go away from home in this Division, play badly and come away with anything.

"Reading are a very good side, particularly at home, so we have to go there and give nothing away.

"We do look as though we have goals in our team, but we have to give ourselves the platform to ask questions of the opposition.

"Last week, Doncaster had a man sent off and in the end were well beaten by Reading which just emphasises once again what I've been saying about keeping 11 men on the pitch."

Lions Player subscribers can view a full pre-match interview with Steve now, and can also hear full match commentary from the Madejski from 2.55pm on Saturday.
