Tough task

1 November 2013

Lomas looks ahead to Clarets clash

Steve Lomas is under no illusions about the task facing his Millwall side tomorrow as they host top of the table Burnley at The Den (3pm).

Boss Steve has been boosted by an improvement in form on home turf over the past three games that has reaped seven points from nine and included excellent wins against Blackpool (3-1) and Leeds United (2-0), followed up by a 2-2 draw with QPR last time out.

However Burnley, going great guns under the guidance of former Lions defender Sean Dyche, have lost just once in the Championship this season and in Sam Vokes and Danny Ings, have a strike duo scoring virtually at will.

Lions boss Steve said: "I have been very impressed by Burnley this season, they have been excellent. A lot of people wouldn't necessarily have thought that they would be up there, so a lot of the credit has to go to Sean Dyche, his staff and the players.

Burnley are at the top of the pile on merit because of their work-rate, commitment, and effort, and obviously the fact that they are scoring goals.
They have got a system that works, and works well, but we have bounced back after two pretty poor results at Birmingham and Bournemouth and our players have responded.

The challenge now for the lads is to make the good point we took at Reading last week into a great point by winning against the team who are top of the shop."

Just take your donation to the blue bus in the car park at The Den on your way into the ground.

Thankyou.
