Millwall & Barnsley in numbers

Saturday's game at The Den, the focus match of our Heroes in White campaign, is the 51st meeting between Millwall and Barnsley - and there is nothing to split to the two sides with 19 wins each.

The remaining 12 matches have been drawn, but the weekend's visitors have enjoyed better fortunes in recent seasons with three wins in the last five meetings, including victories in both games last season.

Marcus Tudgay scored a 93rd-minute winner at The Den in December 2012 to condemn The Lions to a 2-1 defeat, and just a month later goals from Chris Dagnall and Jason Scotland saw The Tykes run out 2-0 winners at Oakwell in the return fixture.

Former Lion Darius Henderson netted a superb hat-trick the last time Millwall won against Barnsley back in January 2012, and the last victory over Saturday's opponents at The Den was in January 2011 when Steve Morison and James Henry scored in a 2-0 win.

When it comes to statistics, there is very little to split Millwall and Barnsley heading into Saturday's Championship clash.

The Lions have netted 18 goals to The Tykes' 16 so far, averages of 1.2 and 1.1 per game, and Steve Lomas' men have picked up two clean sheets to Barnsley's one, although both sides have conceded 31 League goals.
