'It's up to us'

1 May 2013

Straight-talking from Kenny

Kenny Jackett knows that a point for Millwall at Derby County on Saturday will be enough to secure Championship safety for another season - but insists that it is up to his charges to achieve safety rather than rely on results elsewhere.
"We do not want to be looking around the country and hoping results go our way," said Lions boss Kenny. "We are concentrated on going up there to win. It's in our hands and we need a positive performance.
I do not think I will be following other scores. Things can swing very quickly and could influence my substitutions. We have to get the balance right and try our best to win.
It is our responsibility and it's up to us. This is a terrific League and we want to stay in it. Quite often you'd have been safe with 56 points.
It shows you how tough the League is."
