Skipper Shittu praises fans
Lions skipper Danny Shittu paid tribute to the loyal band of 574 travelling fans who sang their hearts out and played a key role in helping the team reach the FA Cup Semi-Final for the first time since 2004.
Shittu, who scored the decisive goal on 42 minutes - a thumping header from Chris Taylor's corner - admitted it was a dream come true to book a Semi-Final spot for only the third time in the club's history.
"I am so proud to be able to lead Millwall out at Wembley," he beamed. "It is a dream for me and to have scored the goal to get us to Wembley is just amazing.
The support we got tonight was fantastic; to have so many people finish work early, or maybe not go in at all, so they could get to Blackburn to support us, is great.
We are delighted to have been able to make their journey worthwhile.
The noise they made was so loud it was great for us. I'm so pleased that we were able to make them happy."
