Gallen: "We will fear no-one"Joe Gallen believes Millwall's underdog spirit will be harnessed by new boss Steve Lomas.
A cursory look at the fixtures for 2013/14 underlines the fact that once again The Lions will be competing against a host of big clubs in the Championship, many bolstered by huge Premier League parachute payments, but Gallen insists that Millwall can again punch above their weight.
He said: "I look at the fixtures and I don't think, 'this will be a tough one, they'll be hard to beat' and so on.
We know the Championship is a tough division, but our mentality is that we can take points from any game.
This will be my seventh season at The Den I think, and it's always been the same for us. The bigger the opposition, the more we seem to raise our game and I know Steve will look to continue that trend."
Ironically, the opening game of the season at The Den is against one of the few clubs in the division who will consider themselves the minnows against Steve Lomas' men.
But we will want to get off to a positive start. It will be Steve's first game in charge here, he'll have the players fired up with plenty to prove to him, so we'll be looking to get those first three points on the board straight away.
