Don't look back

Lomas forgets past haunts and focuses on bright future

Steve Lomas believes he understands the dynamics of Millwall Football Club and hopes the fans will see that he has the qualities and characteristics to be a Millwall manager they can identify with.
Asked whether his previous association with West Ham would make his job more difficult he said: "I am privileged to have the responsibility of managing a great club with proud traditions and passionate fans.
I had no doubts whatsoever that this was the job for me. As a player I was wholeheartedly committed to whichever club I played for at the time. But now my commitment is to Millwall as a manager. I have learned my trade the hard way, starting in non-league and working my way up. I'm no different to many other people who have played for or managed arch rivals of their previous clubs, and whilst understanding the rivalry, my focus is only on the present and the future at Millwall, not on where I have been in the past.
I enjoyed playing at Millwall because it is a proper football club with a crowd that creates a great atmosphere. I have never had a bad word to say about Millwall and now I am aiming to get the fans behind our team through the performances and results we achieve on the pitch, particularly at The Den."
