Midfielder looking for happy returnRichard Chaplow suffered agonising heartbreak last season when he suffered ankle ligament damage just a week before Millwall's FA Cup Semi-Final clash with Wigan Athletic.
The Southampton loanee returned to the south coast for treatment while The Lions prepared for Wembley, a devastating blow as he recalls:
"That was one of my lowest moments in football. I had come to Millwall and things were going really well. Like everyone else I was looking forward to playing at Wembley but then came the injury and that was it."
On the plus side, Richard did enough during his loan spell at The Den to remain on the Millwall radar, and after leaving St Mary's is destined to return to SE16 on a two year deal.
"I enjoyed my time here," he admitted, "and when the option of joining the club permanently came up, it was one I was keen to accept. I'm looking forward to getting back out on the training ground with the boys and picking up where I left off."
