Steve's post-match reaction

Steve Lomas declared that he was 'quite happy' with Millwall's performance at Gillingham on Saturday, when goals by Steve Morison (2) and Andy Keogh secured a comfortable 3-1 success.

The Lions romped into a 3-0 lead by the half-way stage and although former Den striker Bayo Akinfenwa reduced the arrears late on, the result was never really in any doubt.

With a Millwall XI due to play at Bromley on Tuesday night and then Paul Robinson's testimonial this Saturday against Rayo Vallecano scheduled before the big Championship kick-off on Saturday 3rd August, there are a couple more opportunities for boss Steve to further utilise his squad.

"I was happy with the first half performance at Gillingham, however, the substitutes in the second half broke up the game," he said.

"The performances of Steve Morison and Andy Keogh up front were good, and also the other front two of Jermaine Easter and Dany N’Guessan. But for the crossbar and two or three great saves from Stuart Nelson, they would have got the goals their work-rate deserved.

Some of the lads got 60 minutes at Gillingham, while others got 30, so we’ll look at Bromley on Tuesday night to see if we can get some of the lads playing in that."

Tickets for tomorrow night's game are priced at £10 adults and £5 U16s and concessions.
