'Today was a special day I will never forget'
Paul Robinson has thanked Millwall fans for their support after a Steve Morison penalty was enough to secure a 1-0 win in his Testimonial at The Den.
Robinson played the first 47 minutes - his first match action at The Den since last September - and was moved by the response he receive by those in attendance.
"It was an emotional day," Robbo told millwallfc.co.uk. "Rayo Vallecano provided a difficult test for us but I felt we did well to come away with a win and a clean sheet.
"Walking out there before my game with my three daughters was a special moment that I'll never forget. And I was moved by the ovation I received when I went off and after the game.
Overall I'm very pleased with how everything went. A lot of organisation went into the game and I'm so grateful to those who came out for the occasion.
It was a great feeling to get some minutes under my belt at The Den. To be out there once again, in front of that crowd, was a brilliant feeling.
The Testimonial was a chance to reflect on my time at the club but I'm looking to the future. I've worked my way back to fitness and believe I have so much more to give to Millwall.
There's a long way to go but I'm looking forward to the season ahead. There's a real buzz around the club at the moment and I truly believe big things are around the corner for Millwall. I can't wait to be a part of that."
