Latest from the treatment room
The players are gradually working their way towards full match fitness on the training pitch and in friendly matches as the start of the new campaign approaches, whilst behind-the-scenes Lions physio Bobby Bacic and his team continue to work tirelessly to get those players that are injured on the road to recovery.
Bobby brings us up to date with all the latest from the treatment room in his latest injury report:
Shane Lowry will return to full training today after a minor thigh strain, however he may not be involved on Saturday against Gillingham as he will need a few training days under his belt. We will monitor this leading up to Saturday.
Paul Robinson was rested against Brentford as part of his pre-planned conditioning regime and is looking to be involved this weekend whilst Lee Martin will not feature. Lee was caught on the knee against Crawley and is aiming to re-join training late next week.
Liam Trotter is recovering well from his knee surgery and will start bike work this week. John Marquis picked up a slight thigh niggle and will be in the treatment room and gym this week.
Overall the hot weather has meant that we are being extra cautious to make sure the players are constantly hydrated, have a good supply of sun block and are not overloading joints and muscles on the hard pitches.
