Full-time score from Hayes Lane
Two late goals in as many minutes saw Millwall's young team slip to a 3-1 defeat at Bromley on Tuesday night.
Charlie Penny was on target for The Lions, cancelling out Shamir Mullings 40th-minute strike, only for Bromley subs Ashley Nicholls and Mike Jones to secure victory in the last 10 minutes.
Millwall looked bright early on and Aiden O'Brien twice went close, firstly firing into the side netting from a promising position and then forcing Bromley keeper Max Hunter into a smart save to thwart him.
The Lions were forced to make a defensive change midway through the opening half when Taylor Parmenter was forced off injured, with the resulting re-shuffle seeing left-back Thomas Bender switching to partner Jake Goodman in the heart of the back four.
Bromley tried to utilise the physical height and power of giant number 5 Rob Swaine, especially from set-pieces, and Lions keeper Denzel Gerrar made some great saves to deny the defender a certain goal.
However there was little Gerrar could do to prevent Mullings from opening the scoring five minutes before the deadlock as the Bromley frontman took advantage of a defensive slip to slot home.
Both teams made multiple substitutions, but it was The Lions who hauled themselves level with around 15 minutes to go when Charlie Penny was able to force home from close range after the keeper had parried his initial shot.
However The Lions joy was short-lived and Nicholls, one of Bromley's many subs, took full advantage of some hesitancy in the visiting defence to fire the hosts 2-1 ahead.
Just seconds later fellow sub Jone sput the game beyond Millwall's reach, stabbing home from six yards after a goalmouth scramble in which The Lions had been unable to clear their lines.
There was still time for young Lion Callum Webb to rattle the crossbar with a stinging shot, thereafter Bromley saw out the dying seconds comfortably.
