John's good feeling
Lions striker John Marquis revealed his delight after his winning goal saw Kenny Jackett's men into the Fifth Round of the FA Cup.
John struck with a header in the 89th minute to condemn Villa to a second Cup exit in the space of a week, but more importantly for the forward was the fact he capped his first start of the season with an important strike.
"I'm very happy - it's been a long time since my first start," he enthused. "To play today, score the winning goal, and get us through to the next round of the FA Cup is a really good feeling."
John took the time to praise The Den faithful, who made fantastic noise throughout. "We knew we would get a good crowd and they definitely played a part. In the second-half Villa had spells where they had the ball but we kept running and got the goal which I think we deserved."
It was the 20-year-old's first Lions goal since August 2011, but John won't be getting ahead of himself as he looks to secure a regular first-team spot.
"I'm not going to rest on my laurels. I want to keep scoring goals and drive the team forward."
