Lions set to sign left midfielder Martyn
Millwall are set to sign Bristol City winger Martyn Woolford on a two and a half year contract for an undisclosed fee.
The 27-year-old former York City player came to prominence alongside Josh Wright and Liam Trotter at Scunthorpe, scoring the winning goal in their dramatic 3-2 Play-Off Final victory against Millwall at Wembley in 2009.
Woolford came on as a substitute for Bristol City at The Den on New Year's Day and also made a sub's appearance for City against Blackburn in their FA Cup Third Round tie last weekend so is ineligible for Millwall's tie against Aston Villa.
After completing his medical at The Den, Martyn said: "I knew there might be some interest from Millwall just before that New Year's Day game, but it has all happened very quickly. I absolutely delighted to coming here at an exciting time for this club, and I'll be speaking to Trotts and Josh this afternoon to get the low Indown.
Hopefully the fans will forgive me for that Play-Off goal, I'll be trying to make it up to them!"
An exclusive interview with Martyn Woolford will appear on Lions Player shortly. Subscribe here
