Keeping it positive

4 February 2013

All to play for says Kenny

Millwall's narrow home defeat by Hull City on Saturday kept The Lions six points off the Play-Offs, but with 16 games and 48 points still up for grabs, boss Kenny Jackett insist his side still have it all to play for.
At this stage last season, The Lions had accumulated 30 points but went on to take 27 points from their final 16 matches, including 17 from their last seven games of the campaign.
And despite making a slightly stop-start beginning to 2013, Jackett's men are in the last 16 of the FA Cup and still very much in the hunt for promotion.
This Saturday Millwall travel to a Blackpool side smarting from their weekend home defeat by a rejuvenated Barnsley with The Lions themselves very much looking to get back to winning ways after three successive League losses.
"We've not showed the energy or got that amount of crosses in for some weeks as we did against Hull City on Saturday," said Kenny.
"So there is a lot to be positive about for us, barring the finish which is such a big part of the game.
In the second half we had a few chances but couldn't quite find that finish.
We need to make sure we play with that kind of effort, commitment and energy all of the time.
We're still in the Play-Off mix. There's 16 games to go and we will keep going."
