Hard work pays off

25 February 2013

Boys delighted with Boro boost

Martyn Woolford believes that Millwall can use Saturday's win at Middlesbrough as a solid base on which the team can move onwards and upwards in the Championship table.
Former Bristol City midfielder Martyn bagged his first goal since joining The Lions last month as the team ended a run of five successive League defeats with a hard-fought 2-1 success at the Riverside Stadium.
"Everybody put in an absolute shift," he said. "We worked unbelievably hard and it was good to get back to winning ways.
Middlesbrough are a good team and it was backs to the wall at times, but the tackles were going in and every one of the lads was working as hard as possible to make sure we won."
Subscribers to Lions Player can hear Martyn's interview in full, where he also talks us through his first ever goal in a Millwall shirt, the importance of competition for places and looks ahead to Saturday's game at Leeds United. to subscribe.hereClick
