Concentrate on the League

17 February 2013

Boss says 'Forget the Cup - for now.'

Kenny Jackett is delighted with a home tie in the FA Cup Quarter Finals, but his message to his players is: 'Forget about that, we've got important League business to attend to.'
With 45 Championship points up for grabs, the Lions boss is still targeting a top six finish, but knows his side need to beat Peterborough United at The Den on Tuesday night to rekindle hopes of narrowing the nine point gap on Middlesbrough, who are coincidentally next Saturday's opponents.
He said: "The Blackburn match is one to look forward to, but we've got four important League games before that which could have a big bearing on our season. We're delighted to have progressed this far in the Cup and we'll embrace it when the next tie comes around, but we have worked very hard to get ourselves into a good position in the League and then have dropped off the pace in recent weeks.
Our priority now is to rediscover our form in the Championship and then hope to take that into the Cup tie."
