Boss seeking recovery on the road

After seeing their recent unbeaten home run brought to an end by Middlesbrough on Saturday, Steve Lomas says his side can make up for it by picking up points on the road in the coming week.

He said: "We were all desperately disappointed with the display at the weekend, particularly since we had been in good form at The Den. Now we have the opportunity to put things right in these next two away games.

We know that our away form hasn't been good enough, but on Boxing Day, with a big following at Vicarage Road, we have the chance to sort that out against a side who have also been struggling recently.

We have had Nicky Bailey, Richard Chaplow and Lee Martin back in training this week, but they have all been out for a while and this game may be too soon for  them.

Liam Feeney (hamstring), Paul Robinson and Scott Malone (both knee) have been struggling, but we knew the squad would be tested to the full at this time of year, and I'm looking for a performance on Thursday that will bring everyone connected with the club a bit of Christmas cheer."
