Full-time score from The Den
Second-half goals from Middlesbrough's Emmanual Ledesma and Albert Adomah sent Millwall tumbling to a first home defeat in eight at a windswept Den on Saturday evening.
Alan Dunne's long-range shot saved by Shay Given - and a second-half header from Steve Morison that forced a good save from the Boro stopper. It proved to be an instantly forgettable afternoon for The Lions as they managed to muster just one shot on target in the opening half -
Showing just one change from the side beaten at Blackburn, Scott McDonald starting in place of Martyn Waghorn following the end of his loan spell, Millwall struggled to get out of first gear.
Other than Dunne's low angled effort in the opening 45 minutes, Millwall failed to pose much of a threat going forward and it was the visitors who took the lead when sub Ledesma broke on the counter-attack, raced clear from the halfway line and despatched a precision finish around David Forde and into the far corner.
Millwall tried to get a head of steam and Morison went close with a header that was clawed away by the visiting keeper, but it was Boro who made the game safe courtesy of another clinical finish when Adomah rounded Forde to slot into the empty after another quick break.
