Big challenge ahead

30 December 2013

Fordey focused on Foxes fixture

No-one wore a bigger smile than keeper David Forde after Millwall's battling 0-0 draw at Doncaster Rovers on Sunday - The Lions first clean sheet in seven games.

Keepers pride themselves on shut-outs, and for Republic of Ireland No.1 stopper Fordey, there was a sense of real satisfaction at a job well done as Millwall dug in to secure a valuable away point.

Now, however, all thoughts have quickly switched to the visit of free-scoring Championship leaders Leicester City to The Den on Wednesday, as The Lions look to upset the odds and kick off 2014 in style.

"It's going to be a big challenge," Fordey told Lions Player, "They are free-flowing and they do cause some problems. They are probably the best side in the division.

But on the back of our result at Doncaster, if we can get a big support at The Den then I'm sure they won't fancy coming down on Wednesday, especially with Chopper and Fitz in charge we can get a big support and the crowd right behind us."

A snippet of Fordey's full interview, available on Lions Player, is now on our free YouTube channel MillwallFC Official. Watch it here:
