Tough test

9 August 2013

Lomas looks ahead to Suffolk trip

Steve Lomas believes his side can build on Tuesday night's 2-1 win over AFC Wimbledon as the side look to pick up their first three points of the League campaign away to Ipswich Town on Saturday.

Second-half goals from Andy Keogh and Martyn Woolford were enough to overcome The Dons and secure the club's passage through to the Capital One Cup Second Round to face Nottingham Forest later this month.

"That has given us a lift but we want to get back into winning ways in the League," Lomas told Lions Player.

"It will be a tough game going up to Ipswich. Mick McCarthy teams don't just roll over and make it easy for you to go to their home ground and take the three points."

Ipswich have lost their first two games of the campaign - away at Reading in the Championship and against Stevenage in the League Cup - but Lomas believes that McCarthy's side will want to put on a special performance in front of their home fans.

"Big Mick will have them fired up and Portman Road is never an easy place to go. But we're going there positive after the win on Tuesday to kick-start our League campaign."
