Manager provides his post-match reactionSteve Lomas expressed his frustration with Millwall's failure to convert their goalscoring opportunities in the opening day defeat to Yeovil Town.
Ed Upson struck late on for The Glovers to secure a 1-0 win, but Lomas is confident there are areas his team can and will improve in.
"We didn't get anybody to put their foot on the ball in the first-half. In the second-half there was more of that.
"It wasn't until Nicky Bailey came on that we started to get some rhythm. He looked lively and hit an excellent through ball to Steve Morison.
"The defeat is very hard to take but we've only got ourselves to blame. We had five decent chances and you have to take them.
"I can't fault the lads for their competitiveness and will-to-win but you have to show that little bit of know-how. Anybody can go and smash into tackles, but it's about wanting to get on the ball, having the hunger and desire to show what you can do.
"I can understand the fans frustration - I was frustrated. But the second-half was a marked improvement and we will get better. You have to be able to pass the ball, long and short. If you don't, you can't create chances, but our ball retention will improve."
