Boss believes first win isn't far awayMillwall manager Steve Lomas is confident that it won't be long before his side hit the ground running in the Championship.
The Lions travel to the Amex Stadium to face Brighton & Hove Albion on Saturday (3pm) seeking the first League victory of the campaign ahead of the international break, with the next two fixtures after that at home to Derby County and Blackpool.
Andy Keogh's late penalty secured the first League point of the campaign at Sheffield Wednesday last Saturday, but The Lions were eliminated from the Capital One Cup on Wednesday with a narrow 2-1 defeat to Nottingham Forest after extra-time.
Lomas believes, however, that performances have been good, but that his side will only begin earning wins if they tighten up defensively at set-pieces.
"We need to cut out those couple of bad bits," Steve told Lions Player. "We've been paying a heavy price but the two performances (against Sheffield Wednesday and Nottingham Forest) have been very good and we could quite easily have had two wins.
"We have to keep looking at the positives. For the away team to have 16 opportunities is good, we've just got to score more goals and do better with the defensive set-plays that have hindered us in recent weeks.
"You've got to show the players the clips, re-enhance them but also look at the things you're not doing so good and say 'listen, we've got to get better at that, these are the things we've got to work on.'
"We have to get organised a bit quicker but it's also about individuals taking responsibility. When they're given jobs they have to do them instead of knocking off and falling asleep.
"I've told the lads to look at these clips. They don't lie. Look at how many times we've got into their final third, look at the amount of shots and the amount of opportunities we're getting. If you keep doing that and believing it then somebody is going to take a bit of a hiding."
