Beevers' goal

Mark targets Saturday success

Mark Beevers is determined to make it a winning return when he goes back to former club Sheffield Wednesday this Saturday.

Twelve months ago centre-half Mark was lining up for The Owls and played a key part helping his side overturn a 2-1 deficit to clinch a 3-2 victory in the last minute courtesy of a Miguel Llera goal.

But having joined Millwall last October, there will be no room for sentiment when Mark makes the trip back to Yorkshire for the first time this weekend.

Both Millwall and Sheffield Wednesday have made inauspicious starts to the season, recording nil and one point respectively from the opening three Championship matches.

However Barnsley-born Mark is confident that it is only a matter of time before The Lions start banging in the goals and picking up league points.

Speaking to Lions Player he said: "It's going to be a bit different from last season going back to Hillsborough and I've got to play the game, not the occasion.

There will be 20-odd thousand people there and they need to get more points on the board just as we need to get some.

We need to keep creating the chances and sooner or later one will drop for us, we will get a goal and more will follow.

I don't think any of our performances have been particularly bad. It's just there for everyone to see that we have not put the ball in the back of the net.

At Ipswich we conceded two own goals and one from a set piece that was really sloppy and on Saturday against Huddersfield we created chances and just did not put the ball in the back of the net.

If we were not creating chances it would be alarming, but we are, and once we score one a flurry will follow, I'm sure. If one goes in we will kick on from there."
