Shittu dedicates win to the gaffer
Skipper Danny Shittu dedicated Millall's second home win of 2013 against Watford to manager Kenny Jackett.
A late goal by sub Shaun Batt coupled with a stoic defensive display provided the perfect response as The Lions put the disappointment of Saturday's FA Cup Semi-Final firmly behind them at The Den.
"That win was for him," said Danny. "The gaffer was all smiles in the changing room and it is nice because he has put so much hard work into the team this season."
Speaking about the vital win against promotion-chasing Watford, he added: "I am really proud because it has been a hard week for us.
The Semi-Final was a big day we were all looking forward to so defeat was hard enough, then we were all disappointed about the other things that happened. So for us to have dug-out a win is massive.
Our main focus is staying in this division and to beat a team like Watford means a lot because they are fighting for promotion.
Watford have got some really good players so we knew it would be hard. We might have been lucky to keep a clean sheet in the first half but after the break we came out and pushed more.
I keep saying that when we get things right on the pitch, we can beat any team in this division."
