Team spirit

23 April 2013

Players and fans unite

Kenny Jackett believes that the 'special' relationship between Millwall's players and supporters will be crucial as The Lions head into tonight's home game against Blackburn Rovers determined to get the win that will secure the club's precious Championship status.
In The Lions' last home outing against Watford seven days ago, the team were visibly lifted by the vocal encouragement of The Den faithful and they dug deep to withstand a Watford onslaught before going on to hit a last-gasp winner courtesy of Shaun Batt's 84th-minute strike.
"Tonight's game against Blackburn is the first of our two matches in hand and is a massive one for us," said boss Kenny.
"Myself and the players must take the lead and start well. Should we do that, we know that you will get right behind us.
We must not lack in defensive organisation, competitive spirit or energy.
We are going to have to work hard and concentrate on our job tonight to overcome tough opposition."
