James targets Final fling
James Henry has declared himself '100 per cent fit' and raring to go as Millwall look to defy the odds and book a remarkable second FA Cup Final appearance in just nine years at the expense of Wigan Athletic tomorrow.
Just six short weeks ago the omens didn't look too good at all for midfielder James, who damaged his knee ligaments in the away defeat at Leeds United.
But the power of mind over matter, coupled with some extensive rehabilitation work with physio Bobby Bacic has paid off handsomely and James' remarkable recovery was complete when he returned to action as a second-half sub against Sheffield Wednesday on Tuesday night.
“It was a race against time but I don’t feel like I have lost any fitness,” said James.
“It might have been different had it been the start of season but I have played 34 games.
Luckily for me I have recovered just in time. It was really important that I got some game time on Tuesday night, mentally as well. I am feeling good. This has probably been my most consistent season to date and hopefully I can pick up where I left off.”
Having produced some of the best form of his career this season, James is determined to weave his magic on the hallowed Wembley turf.
“We are under no illusions, we know it is going to be a very tough game and they can beat any top Premier League team on their day," he added.
"But we have done our homework on them and will try to impose ourselves on them and we'll see what happens."
