'Millwall have the heart of a lion'

12 April 2013

Lions' continue wholehearted support of Save Lewisham Hospital campaign

Millwall FC will reaffirm our wholehearted support to Save Lewisham Hospital with the players warming up in t-shirts backing the campaign at Wembley.
The Lions lock horns with Wigan with a precious prize of a place in the FA Cup Final - and possibly European football too - at stake tomorrow.
And having worn special t-shirts most recently in the Quarter Final against Blackburn, Kenny Jackett's men will yet again be warming up in shirts backing the campaign against Lewisham Hospital's A&E and maternity downgrade.
Chief Executive Andy Ambler said: "Lewisham Hospital is at the heart of our community and for us at the club too.
We are right behind the Save Lewisham Hospital campaign and remain fully committed in our support."
Off the field Zampa the Lion and also a row of fans will be echoing the team with the help of another set of customised t-shirts too.
Campaigner Carol Brown said: "My life was saved last year by the dedicated staff of Lewisham Hospital A&E and ICU.
As far as we are concerned, in the way they are supporting our hospital, Millwall are the team with the heart of a lion. They deserve to go all the way to the Final."
