Determined Dan

'It's a must-win game' says skipper Shittu

Danny Shittu is set to return from a one-match ban this evening and is determined to play a captain's role and lead his team to a win that will secure Millwall's Championship status.
The Lions need three points to ensure their place in the second tier of English football next season - and the fact that it is local rivals Crystal Palace standing in the way adds that extra spice.
"It's a game we would have wanted to win anyway," Danny told Lions Player, "We are looking forward to it and it's a game that now we really need to win.
It was hard missing out on Saturday, watching the lads warm-up, watching them playing and wanting to be out there. I was sitting twitching, moving all the time the game was going on and I'm just glad that I'm back now and able to play tonight.
It's a massive game - the experienced players need to go out there and talk to the players that maybe aren't as experienced, guide them and play the game we know we can play. It's important and we will try to get the points we need.
Home is meant to be a fortress. This is our home ground where we are meant to be winning a lot of games and it is very disappointing that we haven't.
But we have an opportunity to put some of that right against Crystal Palace; it's a big game, a massive game, and it's one that we have to win."
