John Berylson speaks to Lions Player
The shocking events in Boston 10 days ago both stunned and saddened the world as three individuals were killed and some 200 injured at the Boston Marathon.
Lions chairman John Berylson and his family, as Boston residents, were even more deeply distressed by the events that unfolded during one of the oldest and greatest marathons in the world.
There was a minute's applause prior to the match last night and both Millwall and Blackburn players wore armbands as a show of support with our friends from Massachusetts in remembering the victims of that atrocity.
Speaking to Lions Player, an emotional chairman John reflected: "Seven members of my family, including children and grand-children were at the event and when all the telecommunications were taken down it was a worrying time as we didn't know their situation.
A friend of my daughter lost both her legs in the blast and it was devastating that such a atrocity should happen in our home city."
